I noticed that in the wimpy player the character & was displayed as &

Yes, we are aware of this. So far, it looks like the problem is a piece of software we don't control, so we have to get them to fix it, or we have to replace it. If you notice, those special characters look fine in our feeds (like http://www.wildvoice.com/ListId/14/EmRss.aspx). For now, it may just be safer to not use "&" in your show titles.
