About Me

Maybe today I'm an airplane! Maybe I'm a Chris. Maybe I'm a gumball machine selling Chrises eating fake gummy airoplanes. 'About ME' like I could pin myself down. I don't even know what I am, and the odds are you don't know what you are either. Maybe your whole life is trying to figure out what you are and you never quite succeed. Not that you fail, it's just that it's sort of a process not a destination.

That is, ME is not a thing you can point to and say "There I AM". Me might be something that points, and something that is pointed to at the same time, and the paradox when they realize they're at an impass. But me is never so simple as me appears. And neither are you.

Language has problems dealing with reality, I guess I'm trying to say. You can say 'ME' or whatever, a name for a thing, or a person, and the name doesn't change, but the thing is change, it's a process not a static. Language can't even discuss reality without lying about it. When thought tries to follow language and you end up believing you're thinking about reality you're just totally confused. Hopefully you know it then maybe you're only half confused.

Humanity is incomplete perhaps, moving towards what it will be but now thinking, and thinking it is something that can be accurately described by words which are finite sequences of finite patterns in a finite alphabet, utterly inadequate to describe infinite chains of infinite moments in an infinite space which all exists within a pure shining instant outside of time but containing it and using it to tell its stories, stories in which sometimes we get confused and think we might be a thing we could call me with a name and a fixed genetic sequence and a boundary somewhere that exactly divides me from everything else.

About 'ME'. Maybe today I'm ME. Maybe today I'm you. Right now I probably am you too or you wouldn't be reading this. Maybe you even understand that. We touch in the understanding of an idea, suggested at but not really trapped by words, sent out into the world at one time and recovered at some others, not really existing at any one of those locations, but spread out somewhere across them.

THIS IDEA.

It links us you see.

You are on one end and I am on the other and we both are in the middle.

But which end is which? And what about the other ends, all the other 'people' or whatever might be reading and understanding this idea, sharing in its creation, destruction, in the building and tearing apart of its meaning? Where in all of them do you begin and end?

Actually you are all over the place, and in each place, and in none of them.

I guess.

Or maybe today I'm a liar.

My World

She's a good world, and what are you going to do try to stop her if she does something you don't wan't her to? Her own world.

Well, I guess you could spank her, or maybe tickle her a little. Tie her up. Heck, she might like it.

Maybe people live in a world which is 3 dimensional. Time makes it four dimensional. Three dimensional stories being told in time, a four dimensional world. Or is it just the ideas of people that are three dimensional living in a four dimensional story that is a chain of symbols pointing to ideas, to those static three dimensional things?

Really all worlds are just parts of stories though, including all their dimensions. It's part of the story when you tell it, like this "Make believe you are living in a three dimensional world with time and a past and future that don't connect..."

You might not believe you're in a story and that's OK. The best actors totally believe their parts. Nobody's going to yank you screaming out of reality anytime soon anyway, maybe.

Maybe my world is not quite three dimensional or four dimensional or any dimensional. I'm not quite sure whether it's really a world at all. Maybe it's more like a place in a story defined by what comes after "Happily Ever After" or before "Once Upon A Time".

I guess it's paradoxical that a place outside a story could be inside a story too. Well, Paradox is OK, I guess. Remember stories are about accepting new things, situations, relations, about suspending disbelief. Accept that two or more things can exist in absolute and total opposition to each other and both be true and contradictory and real at the same time and new and wonderful pathways open up between all our worlds because they're not impossible anymore.

Believe IT.

Or NOT.

Yeah it's me from an old website picture from the mid 90s. Nobody ever did say anything to me about Metal Gear but maybe I was an android in the future so I guess it fits.

Haven't heard of it, let alone seen it. Maybe I'll be on the lookout... Unfortunately, I don't smoke pot. Maybe I'm missing out on the film major ha.

Just wanted to let you know that I haven't been dropping, then adding you as a friend to mess with you... I've just been using you as a guinea pig to test something that requires a fan relationship instead of friend so I have to switch back and forth. Thanks for your patience in the meantime. :)
