I've been reading a bit, Books people recommend to me mostly. Currently working on "Cosmi-comics. by Italo Calvino. He seems to be hind of an absurdist. Well maybe I should save the literary criticism for people who speak the language. I never even finished 1st semester college English.
Anyway. it's an entertaining book.
I had this semrzndom thought while making breakfast, which is a continuation in my own head of a monologue I began while deputing Amy & Mikes house the other evening:
Rational thought is inherently funny, because it lets you do silly things like make straight lines out of pretzels.
Err wait, I Sot that backwards."
Rational thought. . .
... make pretzels out of straight lines! Because the space in which thoughts exist is itself curved back upon itself, exactly like real space is.
So in making perfect rational sense, you have also made a pretzel. Naturally.
Well that was the end, The beginning was sort & like " It would be beneficial for most people to be free of the notion that they are sane and rational and make sense. It's wrong for one thins. People aren't even equipped for rational thought by design. Even things like computers which are designed to be rational fail because of random error,
The belief that one makes perfect sense can only lead to animosity and misunderstanding.
I guess my observation centers on the realization that thought, like space, is only locally Euclidean, In the global perspective, where different thoughts, line up, they line up in elegant curves, that all bend back on each other, or spiral in eddying vortices into the night. (All while appearing to be straight and senSica1 locally).
Anyway all for now - I have to so meet a friend in a park and feet some pigeons.
(please pardon my spelling that's the handwriting recognition engine I'm too lazy to correct...)
