Paula Goodspeed who auditioned on American Idol in January 2006 has been found dead outside the
home of judge Paula Abdul   The 30-year-old is believed to have killed herself by taking a drugs overdose and reportedly had a history of mental illness.

Millions of viewers saw Cowell mock Goodspeed's teeth brace, telling her: "I don't think any artist on earth could sing with that much metal in your mouth... that's like a bridge." After the crestfallen hopeful left the audition room, Cowell joked: "How did she get through the metal detector? It must have gone crazy."
